The Trolley Company is owned by John Pauwels and Eva Ritchey. Started in 2009, John Pauwels brings years of experience and a great deal of expertise to the company. Hailing from Michigan, Mr. Pauwels has owned and operated Elite Limousine in North Carolina since 1992. His experience stretches from under the hood to behind the wheel.
Eva Ritchey has been an advocate for mass transit for over fourteen years. She loves trolleys. In her words, "Trolleys are rolling communities. They create a sense of family along with the fun. People don't think of them as mass transit, they think of them as fun."
The Trolley Company hopes to offer many years of service to the communities of the Carolinas. We are a member of the Asheville Chamber of Commerce.
To the right are the three trolleys in the fleet--Cinderella (seats 22), The Duchess (seats 19 and is handicap accessible), Enchantress (seats 28)and yes, I will have to admit his name is Boris (seats 35).
Why the name Cinderella for our historic trolley? A non profit trolley project committee in Downtown Hendersonville found her sitting among the dust in John Pauwel's barn. Like Cinderella of old, she had to be readied for the ball. Isn't she grand!
